Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Giuseppe Amodei (ranked 1865 p4p, 94 weight class) and Demarte Pena (ranked 2336 p4p, 116 weight class). Pena is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mesmo Assim. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Demarte Pena enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Giuseppe Amodei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Demarte Pena!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pena dives in and grabs Amodei's left leg, looking for a takedown. Amodei pushes down on Pena's head and hops out.
Amodei throws a shot from downtown. Pena moves away and avoids it.
Amodei gets caught napping as Pena dives in and scores a takedown. Amodei manages to retain guard.
Pena drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Amodei dives on top into guard.
Pena working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Amodei doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Amodei manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pena shoots in looking for a takedown but Amodei manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pena's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Pena steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Amodei. That one must have hurt.

A slapping body kick lands there for Amodei.

During a confident post fight interview, Giuseppe Amodei thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
