Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edward Blake (ranked 462 p4p, 71 weight class) and Solomon Kahn (ranked 476 p4p, 75 weight class). Blake's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Cry of the Blackbirds. Edward Blake has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edward Blake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Solomon Kahn!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Kahn.
Kahn cracks Blake with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.


It looks like Edward Blake has been cut.
Kahn throws a hook to the side of Blake's head but Blake sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kahn tries to work over Blake's front leg with a kick but Blake checks it.
Kahn misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Blake.
Kahn has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Blake is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Solomon Kahn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice body punch from Blake.
Blake really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Blake lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kahn's sensitive parts.

Kahn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Blake lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Kahn thows a leg kick but Blake checks it
and Blake counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Solomon Kahn has been cut.
Blake looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Blake loads up on a big right hand but Kahn slips the punch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kahn misses with a low kick.
Kahn throws a body kick that misses.
Blake looks to throw the jab but Kahn is out of range.
Kahn looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Kahn fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Blake has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Blake walks into a left hand.
Kahn sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Kahn throws a hook but Blake avoids it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blake displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kahn throws out the jab.
Kahn looks to throw the jab but Blake is out of range.
Blake shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Blake lands with an uppercut that bounces Kahn off the cage and back into range.
Kahn throws a hook to the side of Blake's head but Blake sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Blake lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Blake fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kahn on the side of the head.
Blake misses with a looping left.
Kahn throws a hook to the side of Blake's head but Blake sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Blake tries to move into range but Kahn moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Kahn keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Blake.
Blake scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Kahn getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kahn lands with a nice body punch.
Kahn will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kahn avoids the body shot from Blake.
Kahn throws a front kick aimed at Blake's knee but Blake avoids it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blake uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kahn.
Kahn lands a nice hook to Blake's body. Blake takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kahn looks to land a left hand but Blake moved out of range nicely.
Kahn jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kahn takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Blake takes one on the chin but seems OK.


Blake is rocked!
Kahn misses with an uppercut
and Blake counters with a nice uppercut.
Blake slips under a jab.
Kahn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kahn misses with a right hand
and Blake counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Blake feints and then cracks Kahn's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kahn down.
Kahn misses with a jab to the body
enabling Blake to counter with a crisp jab.
Blake throws a body punch but Kahn moves out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kahn! But no joy.
Kahn feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Blake's calf.
Blake's corner calls for a 1-2. Blake obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Kahn throws a right hand that misses
and Blake counters with a two punch combo.
Kahn thuds his right hand into Blake's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.


Edward Blake's cut is getting worse.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Blake staying out of range there.
Kahn takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Kahn throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Blake with a hook.

Kahn drops Blake with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Blake looks back up at him and smiles so Kahn waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Blake is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Blake circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Kahn. Blake falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Kahn!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Solomon Kahn!
During a confident post fight interview, Solomon Kahn thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
