Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Blaine Salazar (ranked 5317 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Jones (ranked 3311 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Blaine Salazar has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blaine Salazar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyler Jones! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Salazar looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Jones tries to stand but can't do so whilst Salazar controls his leg. Salazar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jones looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Jones sitting and controlling from the half guard. Salazar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salazar looking for submissions off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Salazar actively working from the bottom here. Jones controlling the action here. Jones's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Jones should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Jones gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Salazar tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the cage and eventually Salazar drops back down to his feet.
Salazar is trying to pull guard but Jones has him pressed against the cage. Salazar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Salazar gets caught napping as Jones dives in and scores a takedown. Salazar manages to retain guard. Salazar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jones controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Salazar wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment. Jones not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jones is looking to stand up but Salazar won't let him.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Salazar gets caught napping as Jones dives in and scores a takedown. Salazar manages to retain guard. Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Jones wants to stand but Salazar has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Salazar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyler Jones dominated that round. That's time! Salazar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Jones closes the distance and pushes Salazar back into the cage. Salazar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Salazar. The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Salazar is trying to defend but Jones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones wants to work for an arm triangle but Salazar is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Jones works his way into full mount! Salazar regains half guard. Jones is working for a kimura but Salazar is defending it quite comfortably.
Salazar wants to control but Jones is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones drops an elbow to the side of Salazar's head. Jones stands up and beckons Salazar to join him on the feet. Jones takes the fight into the clinch. Jones gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Salazar regains guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Salazar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
Jones pulls Salazar in close to prevent any damage. Salazar stands up and waves to Jones to follow him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jones dives in and scores a takedown into Salazar's guard. Salazar being controlled here, momentarily. Salazar keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyler Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Salazar enables Jones to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Salazar manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Salazar has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Jones has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Salazar tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the cage and eventually Salazar drops back down to his feet.

Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Salazar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salazar controlling from the top position. Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Salazar defends well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones has control of Salazar's left arm, preventing Salazar from doing any damage. Salazar scoring with punches to the head and body. Salazar scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Salazar scoring with some ground and pound. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Salazar. Salazar stands up and waves to Jones to follow him. Jones tries to keep at a distance but Salazar has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salazar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Jones tries to sprawl but Salazar drives through with a takedown into half guard. Jones is staying active underneath Salazar, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jones is defending against the submission attempts here by Salazar.
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Salazar thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Tyler Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Jones wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Salazar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Salazar prevents Jones from getting back to his feet. Salazar lands a couple of elbows. Jones wants to sweep but no luck. Jones has his hands on Salazar's head, controlling the position. Salazar postures up and lands a big shot to Jones's brow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Salazar won't allow Jones to sweep him here. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Salazar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jones tries to sprawl but Salazar drives through with a takedown into half guard. Jones is trying to control but can't.
Salazar stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jones to get to his feet. Jones drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Blaine Salazar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tyler Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Blaine Salazar showed his dominance in that final round. I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
