Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee McKinney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miuk Yochida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lee McKinney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miuk Yochida!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yochida looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
McKinney wants to stand and escape but Yochida is having none of it.
Yochida trying to control but McKinney is working from the bottom.
Yochida has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McKinney is proving hard to escape from.
Yochida won't allow McKinney to sweep him here.
Yochida postures up.

McKinney is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
McKinney throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
McKinney wants to sweep here but Yochida controlling him for the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Yochida will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Nice sprawl there from McKinney as Yochida shoots in.
Nice takedown defense from McKinney. No joy for Yochida on that attempt.
Lee McKinney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miuk Yochida.
Yochida shoots in looking for a takedown. McKinney tries to sprawl out of it but Yochida keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McKinney manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McKinney tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yochida swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Horrible takedown by McKinney or perhaps it was just good defense by Yochida which made him look bad.
Yochida shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and McKinney counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yochida looks gassed!
McKinney not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Yochida gets full guard.

McKinney trying to control but Yochida is working from the bottom.
McKinney is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Yochida is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

McKinney decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
McKinney moves in looking to clinch but Yochida pushes him off.

McKinney closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Yochida actively working from the bottom here.
Yochida tries to get to full guard but McKinney has control of the leg.

McKinney works his foot free and advances to mount.
McKinney can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Yochida is looking to escape.
McKinney controlling the position easily from mount.
McKinney punching from mount but Yochida doing a good job of avoiding damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Yochida wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by McKinney.
Yochida is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Yochida is squirming around, avoiding McKinney's attempts to control the action.
Yochida wants to control but McKinney is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee McKinney dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



McKinney closes the distance and clinches.
Yochida gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from McKinney.
Yochida has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McKinney is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Yochida is pushing McKinney up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

McKinney escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

McKinney bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Yochida is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on McKinney's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
McKinney tries to pass the half guard into mount. Yochida knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McKinney is keen to just control but Yochida is a slippery customer.

Yochida trying to hold on to McKinney's head to control him but McKinney postures up.
McKinney not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McKinney connects with a nice short shot to Yochida's temple.
McKinney seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Yochida does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
McKinney content to control rather than advance.

McKinney stands up from half guard.

McKinney misses with a takedown attempt - Yochida sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Yochida fails with the takedown

and McKinney counters with a shoot takedown. Yochida fights it but they end up in guard.
Yochida is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Lee McKinney overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Yochida prevents McKinney from improving his position.

McKinney is trying to stand back up but Yochida is controlling him
McKinney knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yochida on the ground.
McKinney is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Yochida passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for McKinney!
McKinney slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Yochida decides to return to a standing position.
McKinney shoots and misses

and Yochida counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Yochida.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lee McKinney. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McKinney looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yochida is one step ahead there.

McKinney is wriggling around but Yochida manages to pass to half guard.

Yochida escapes and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lee McKinney will probably get the nod.
That's time! McKinney's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Yochida working for a submission but McKinney is keeping him at bay.
McKinney tries to lock up and control but Yochida gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McKinney can't escape the position.
McKinney is working hard here to advance position.
Yochida tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

McKinney tries to hold on but Yochida postures up.
McKinney is just holding on here. Yochida manages to take his back.
Yochida trying to control.
McKinney is really stuck here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McKinney trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
McKinney can't escape the position.
McKinney is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Yochida looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! McKinney taps!
