Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bill Blackburn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Gomes!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackburn manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gomes on his heels. He'll look to pass Gomes's guard now, I'm sure.
Gomes pushes Blackburn off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Gomes has closed the distance and engaged Blackburn in a clinch.
Gomes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Blackburn smiles and moves away.
Gomes feints and as Blackburn raises his hands in defense, Gomes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gomes trying to control but Blackburn is working from the bottom.
Gomes tries to stand but Blackburn is controlling from the bottom.
Blackburn keeping moving, preventing Gomes from controlling successfully.
Gomes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Blackburn manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gomes has Blackburn in his guard.
Blackburn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Blackburn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gomes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blackburn has managed to get both his arms back between Gomes's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Gomes working for submissions but it's allowed Blackburn to get to half guard.
Blackburn sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gomes defending well though.
Gomes wants to control but Blackburn is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Blackburn is nestled in close to Gomes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blackburn slips a nice elbow through Gomes's hands, connecting with Gomes's forehead.

Blackburn working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Blackburn lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Gomes is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Blackburn's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Blackburn's back!
Gomes gets his hands free as Blackburn looks to control.
