The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alcala checks the leg kick nicely there.
Covert uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Alcala has time to react.
Jimbo Covert seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Covert takes a swing at Alcala's ribcage but misses.
Alcala has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Oooooh!!! Alcala has knocked Covert down with a huge combo! Alcala steps away and waves a wobbly Covert back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Covert throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Alcala counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Alcala circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Covert tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Alcala wins by KO!
