Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Starman (ranked 2444 p4p, 289 weight class) and Oliver Huang (ranked 4498 p4p, 460 weight class). Starman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is David Bowie - Starman. Oliver Huang struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oliver Huang! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Huang decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Starman looking for submissions off his back. Huang is trying to control. Starman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Huang is pressing down on Starman's thigh, looking to free his foot. Starman is holding on for now. Huang seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Starman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Huang is thwarting Starman's attempts to control the position. Huang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Starman keeps working. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Huang might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Starman haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Starman tries to roll over but Huang keeps him under control.

Wait, no, Starman rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Huang's guard! Nice work there by Starman! Huang controlling the position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Huang has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Starman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Huang is on top in guard.

Huang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Starman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Huang with a flurry of punches that miss. Huang is trying to control the action in half guard but Starman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Starman trying to hold on to Huang's head to control him but Huang postures up.
Huang moves nicely into side control. Starman prevents Huang from improving position. Starman gets back to half guard. Huang is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Huang trying to control but Starman is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

My spies in Woods inform me that Huang has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Starman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Huang manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Starman manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Huang keeping moving, preventing Starman from controlling successfully. Huang bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Starman's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Huang with a flurry of punches that miss. Huang looking to sit in guard and control but Starman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Huang manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Starman manages to get himself to full guard.
Huang passes into half guard. Starman is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Team Beta Fail, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Starman is controlling Huang's position as best he can from this difficult position. Huang scoring with strikes to the body and head. Huang missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Huang thows a huge punch but Starman dodges it nicely.
Huang not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Huang not landing any meaningful shots this time. Huang wants to pass to mount but Starman is defending the position. Huang has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Starman tries to roll over but Huang keeps him under control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Huang is looking to advance position but Starman won't allow it. Huang is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Oliver Huang showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Huang is looking to take a break and control but Starman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Huang working the strikes but Starman uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Huang is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Let's hope that Huang has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Oliver Huang has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Huang throws some wild stikes that Starman manages to avoid easily.
Oliver Huang is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Huang trying to control but Starman is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Oliver Huang. I've got Huang winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
