Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jean Rousseau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Geoffrion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Rousseau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mason Geoffrion!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Geoffrion walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Rousseau checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Rousseau fails with an attempt to clinch.

Rousseau fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Geoffrion sprawls well initially but Rousseau persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Rousseau perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Geoffrion gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Geoffrion is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rousseau's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rousseau's back!

Rousseau feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rousseau is looking for a triangle but Geoffrion pushes his legs off easily.

Geoffrion is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rousseau, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
