Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Arron Asham (ranked 2107 p4p, 259 weight class) and Niko Diaz (ranked 2193 p4p, 267 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arron Asham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Niko Diaz! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Asham. Diaz shrugs it off though. Diaz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Asham. Asham is looking to counter with a body kick. Diaz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Asham scores with a jab to the head.
It looks like Niko Diaz has been cut. Asham throws out a leg kick but Diaz moves out of range and Asham only half commits. Asham throws a leg kick which misses Diaz's front leg but catches the back leg as Diaz tries to avoid it. Asham uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Diaz. Diaz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Diaz misses with the combination.
Diaz throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Diaz stalks Asham and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Asham's face. Asham staggers backwards, shaken. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Diaz on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Diaz has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Diaz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Asham is looking to counter punch. Asham thumps Diaz with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz misses with a two punch combination.
It appears Asham was looking to counter with a kick there. Diaz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Asham. Diaz misses with a straight right. Asham keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Diaz. Asham appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Asham lands a head shot. Diaz with a hook. Diaz misses with a body shot.
Diaz moves out of range as Asham throws a body kick.
Asham turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Asham avoids the head kick by Diaz.
Diaz misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Asham.
Asham doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. A telegraphed right hand from Diaz misses the target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz takes a jab right on the kisser.
Asham keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action! Diaz misses with a body shot.
Asham swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Asham thows a left - swing and a miss! Diaz misses with the combination.
Asham throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Diaz on the side of the head. Diaz lands a jab to the head.
Diaz walks into a straight right hand from Asham.
Diaz is rocked! Asham feints a jab and as Diaz dips his head, Asham unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Diaz right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Diaz falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Asham smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Arron Asham! Our winner, Arron Asham, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
