Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Owrip What (ranked 25286 p4p, 581 weight class) and Dino Pelayo (ranked 3412 p4p, 346 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dino Pelayo! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! What tries to clinch and Pelayo counters with a three punch combo that has What backing up. What nods at Pelayo to acknowledge the strikes. What lands a nice looking body shot.
Pelayo gets a clinch. Pelayo goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

What is trying to maintain a safe position but Pelayo gets an underhook and turns What into the cage. Pelayo tries to work over What's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. What is looking to control Pelayo's arms but Pelayo gets an underhook and turns him. Now What has his back to the cage. Pelayo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Pelayo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. What looking to slow down the pace here. Pelayo tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. What struggles to land a body shot inside as Pelayo controls his hands.
What stalling in the clinch but Pelayo improves position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pelayo pulls guard effortlessly. What trying to control the position from guard on top but Pelayo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pelayo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Pelayo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. What can't keep his opponent in guard - Pelayo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Pelayo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pelayo working What over with strikes. Pelayo trying to control the pace. Pelayo is continuing to stall. Pelayo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks What with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Pelayo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. What has hold of Pelayo's hands but Pelayo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pelayo connects with a nice short shot to What's temple. Pelayo stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The adventures of Pelayo the control monster continue. Boring. Pelayo drops an elbow to the side of What's head. Pelayo with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. What is trying to get back to full guard. Pelayo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. What on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if What tries to get out of the position. What trying to control from the bottom.
Pelayo lands with a punch from half guard. Pelayo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
What is rocked! Still in half guard, Pelayo seems content to control. Oh What is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! What seems to have got his legs back now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Let's hope that Pelayo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dino Pelayo dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

What uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pelayo has time to react. Pelayo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from What. What swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pelayo. A shot to the liver by Pelayo. Beautiful body shot. Some wild striking there from What.
Pelayo swats away the attempt to clinch by What. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. What fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pelayo manages to avoid it. Pelayo closes the distance and pushes What back into the cage. What digs a right hand underneath Pelayo's ribcage. Pelayo let out a lung full of air as it connected. What's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
That's one minute gone in the round. What misses with a punch on the inside.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Pelayo. Pelayo jumps guard and drags What to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Pelayo wants to sweep here but What controlling him for the moment. Pelayo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. What doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. What manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Pelayo punching to the body, from the bottom. What definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pelayo looking to control.
What looking to sit in guard and control but Pelayo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
What knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pelayo on the ground. Pelayo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pelayo throwing strikes from guard but What blocks nicely. Pelayo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Pelayo working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Pelayo has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Pelayo is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Pelayo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. That's three minutes gone in the round. Pelayo postures up and lands a big shot to What's brow. What being controlled here, momentarily. Pelayo with a flurry of punches that miss. Pelayo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pelayo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Pelayo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Pelayo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pelayo with a nice head shot there. Pelayo throwing strikes but missing. Dino Pelayo has got the better of the ground game so far. Pelayo gets to his feet and stands over What, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! What felt that one! Pelayo unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save What from any more punishment!
