Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Macho Man Savage (ranked 2260 p4p, 254 weight class) and Ray Gillete (ranked 5793 p4p, 509 weight class). Man Savage comes into the arena with Hey Freakshow! blaring out of the sound system. Ray Gillete acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man Savage jabs at Gillete's body.
Man Savage looks to score with a jab to the body but Gillete is just out of range.
Gillete misses with a straight right.
Man Savage misses with a few strikes there.

Man Savage lands with a straight right. Gillete didn't see that one coming.
Man Savage connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Man Savage misses with a looping left.
Man Savage tries to bum rush Gillete with a series of wild strikes but Gillete uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Man Savage goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A little jabbing left from Gillete on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Man Savage closes the distance and clinches.
Come on Man Savage - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gillete has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Man Savage avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Man Savage throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gilletes head.

Man Savage pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Gillete tries to keep at a distance but Man Savage has taken the fight into the clinch.
Man Savage definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Man Savage stops a takedown attempt from Gillete.

Gillete breaks from the clinch.
Gillete on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Gillete doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Man Savage lands with a hook. Gillete tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Gillete looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Man Savage is fending him off so far but Gillete persists. Nope, Man Savage circles away and we're back to standing.
Macho Man Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ray Gillete.
Gillete throws a series of punches but Man Savage moves out of range.
Gillete throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Man Savage swings and misses with a hook to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Man Savage throws a hook but Gillete blocks it.

and Gillete counters with a straight right hand.
Man Savage cracks Gillete with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Man Savage bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gillete's head backwards.

Macho Man Savage is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Gillete is still on wobbly legs! Can Man Savage finish him?
Man Savage throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Gillete's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Man Savage dives in looking to finish as Gillete flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Man Savage's strikes! Man Savage is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Gillete's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Gillete was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
