Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clinton Larsen (ranked 25171 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vidmantas Alsauskas (ranked 5165 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Clinton Larsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vidmantas Alsauskas!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alsauskas moves into the clinch.
Alsauskas tries to circle away but Larsen has him pinned against the cage.

Alsauskas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Larsen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Alsauskas defends well and Larsen ends up having to push Alsauskas into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Alsauskas swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Larsen counters with a shoot takedown. Alsauskas fights it but they end up in guard.
Larsen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Larsen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Larsen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Larsen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Larsen drops back looking for a leg! Alsauskas is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Alsauskas manages to kick Larsen off! Larsen jumps back into Alsauskas's guard.
Larsen lands a couple of elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alsauskas wants to get back to his feet but Larsen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Larsen prevents Alsauskas from getting back to his feet.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Larsen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Larsen works over Alsauskas with some ground and pound from guard.

Larsen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Alsauskas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Larsen was well out of range. Poor timing from Alsauskas.
Larsen wants to clinch.

Alsauskas moves into the clinch.

Alsauskas manages to pull guard.
Alsauskas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Larsen postures up in Alsauskas's guard and throws a big left but Alsauskas blocks it.
Alsauskas is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Larsen dives into side control.
Larsen prevents Alsauskas from escaping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Larsen cracks Alsauskas with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Larsen is looking to take a break and control but Alsauskas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Larsen fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Larsen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Alsauskas is not content to let Larsen control the position.

Larsen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Alsauskas has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Larsen but great work by Alsauskas.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Larsen gets back to half guard.
Alsauskas tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Larsen wants to improve his position but Alsauskas is controlling well.
Larsen landing strikes from the bottom.
Alsauskas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Larsen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
It looks like Alsauskas is going to stand back up.
Larsen is pressing down on Alsauskas's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Larsen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alsauskas's guard.

Larsen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clinton Larsen dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Alsauskas moves into the clinch.
Larsen has Alsauskas pressed against the cage, preventing Alsauskas from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Larsen tries to pull guard but Alsauskas holds him up against the cage and eventually Larsen drops back down to his feet.
Larsen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Alsauskas walks away with a smile on his face. Larsen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Alsauskas drives through and clinches with Larsen against the cage.

Alsauskas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Alsauskas cracks Larsen with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Alsauskas has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Larsen to stand back up!


It looks like Clinton Larsen has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Larsen counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Alsauskas is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Larsen dives into side control.

Larsen working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Larsen cracks Alsauskas with a big elbow.

Larsen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Larsen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Larsen throws a strike aimed at the side of Alsauskas's head but Alsauskas avoids it well.

Larsen cracks Alsauskas with a big right hand but Alsauskas just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Larsen in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Larsen is trying to get an arm triangle but Alsauskas is defending well.
Alsauskas takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Alsauskas bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
A left lands for Alsauskas.
Alsauskas lands with an uppercut that bounces Larsen off the cage and back into range.


Larsen is rocked!
Larsen switches off momentarily and Alsauskas cracks him with a monster right hand! Larsen topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Alsauskas dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Alsauskas!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vidmantas Alsauskas!
