Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Boris Bulletzowich (ranked 803 p4p, 107 weight class) and Willie Wood (ranked 1165 p4p, 153 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boris Bulletzowich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Willie Wood!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bulletzowich manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wood on his heels. He'll look to pass Wood's guard now, I'm sure.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Wood throws the kick towards the body but Bulletzowich avoids it.
Bulletzowich misses with a jab to the body
enabling Wood to counter with a crisp jab.
Wood cracks Bulletzowich with a good jab.
Wood jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bulletzowich fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Wood lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Bulletzowich throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wood.

A little jabbing left from Wood on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Wood is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bulletzowich drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Willie Wood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Bulletzowich counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Wood!

Bulletzowich throws a strike aimed at the side of Wood's head but Wood avoids it well.
The strikes coming from Bulletzowich are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Wood keeps Bulletzowich under control for a moment.

Bulletzowich has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bulletzowich throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Wood works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bulletzowich slips a nice elbow through Wood's hands, connecting with Wood's forehead.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wood can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wood tries to roll over but Bulletzowich keeps him under control.

Wood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bulletzowich. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That was a close round but I would say that Boris Bulletzowich will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Bulletzowich lunges at Wood with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Wood's hand.
Willie Wood seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bulletzowich is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wood sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Wood slips under a jab.
Wood lands with a cross.
Bulletzowich missing with a left hand there. Wood was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bulletzowich throws a hook to the side of Wood's head but Wood sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Wood! But no joy.
Bulletzowich slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

and Wood cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Wood lands a slapping body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wood misses with a head kick.
Wood feints and then cracks Bulletzowich's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bulletzowich down.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bulletzowich shoots for a takedown but Wood saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Bulletzowich walks into a straight right hand from Wood.
Bulletzowich tries to move into range but Wood moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Wood changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

and Wood counters with a nice uppercut.
Bulletzowich bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Wood uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bulletzowich.
Oh Bulletzowich is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wood looks to score with a jab to the body but Bulletzowich is just out of range.
Bulletzowich seems to have got his legs back now.
Bulletzowich uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wood.
Bulletzowich misses with a takedown
and Wood counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Wood has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Nice defenses there by Wood.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wood fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bulletzowich, pushing him back against the cage.
Wood lands a hook to the side of the head.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Wood lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bulletzowich backwards.

Bulletzowich successfully pulls guard.
Wood not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Wood is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Wood pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bulletzowich is keeping the position for now.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bulletzowich is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

And Wood responds with a good body kick, but Bulletzowich manages to step out the way in time.

The fighters circle momentarily. Wood darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Wood throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Willie Wood showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Wood has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Bulletzowich stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Wood.
Bulletzowich is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

Wood scores with a hook to the body. Bulletzowich takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Wood throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Wood is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Wood lands with a right hand.

Wood darts in and clinches Bulletzowich up against the cage.

Bulletzowich tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wood smiles and moves away.
Bulletzowich misses with an uppercut.
Wood getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Bulletzowich walks into a left hand.
Wood cracks Bulletzowich with a right hand to the side of the head.
Bulletzowich tries to clinch
and Wood counters with a solid body kick.
Wood cracks a nice hook into Bulletzowich's ribs.
Bulletzowich drops his hands momentarily and Wood takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Bulletzowich misses with a left hand
and Wood counters with a big left hand that crumples Bulletzowich! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Willie Wood!
A very excited looking Willie Wood made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
