The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cook pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Conolly shoots in for a takedown but Cook shows good takedown defense. Cook avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Conolly tries for a takedown but Cook sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Cook fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Cook has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Conolly is trying to keep an underhook but Cook manages to get the takedown into half guard. Conolly makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Conolly. Conolly is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cook really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Conolly is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Cook will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Cook is fighting it off but Conolly persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Cook's guard against the cage. Cook wants to stand but Conolly is controlling the position. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Cook tries for a takedown but Conolly circles away easily and Conolly counters by moving into the clinch. Conolly breaks the clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Conolly drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cook is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Conolly asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Conolly looking to sit in guard and control but Cook gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Conolly looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Cook puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Cook stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Conolly to get to his feet. Conolly takes the fight into the clinch. Conolly drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cook pulls his leg out and moves away.

Cook looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Conolly looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Conolly pushes Cook off and scrambles back to his feet.

Eugenio Conolly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Daniel Cook's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Conolly keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Cook throws a head kick that misses. Conolly tries to clinch but Cook is having none of it. Conolly shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cook pinned against the cage. Cook gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cook moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Cook misses with a wild combination.
No joy there for Conolly, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Conolly is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cook can't fight it off and eventually Conolly manages to take the fight to the floor. Cook looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Conolly has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cook is proving hard to escape from. Conolly must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Cook is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Conolly tries for a takedown but Cook manages to get underhooks.

And that's the end of the fight! Eugenio Conolly comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Conolly has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
