The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from mir.
mir fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

MOE shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
MOE is keen to just control but mir is a slippery customer.
mir really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

MOE wants to get up but he can't break mir's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
mir prevents MOE from standing back up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. mir lands a nice short elbow.
MOE really doesn't want to stay on the ground with mir. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
mir slips a nice elbow through MOE's hands, connecting with MOE's forehead.
Still in half guard, mir seems content to control.
MOE is trying to maintain the position but mir is very close to passing his half guard.
MOE is in trouble now - mir has advanced to mount!
MOE is desperately trying to improve his position but mir has a good base and remains in mount.
