Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hip Hop (ranked 92 p4p, 11 weight class) and Ross Barkley (ranked 129 p4p, 17 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hip Hop! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ross Barkley! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barkley dives in and grabs Hop's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hop pushes down on Barkley's head and hops out. Barkley walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hop. Hop looks to land a left hand but Barkley moved out of range nicely. Hop has been working on his boxing with his coaches at AK Beasties in the buildup to the fight. Barkley shoots in looking for a takedown but Hop manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Barkley's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hop is looking to counter punch. Barkley throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ross Barkley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barkley throws a jab when Hop was well out of range. Barkley lands a nice shot to the body.
Barkley goes for a double leg but Hop avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hop continues to drive forward. Hop throws a quick counter head kick but Barkley was just out of range. Hip Hop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ross Barkley. Hop moves out of range as Barkley strikes. Hop slips under a jab. Hop appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barkley throws a series of punches but Hop moves out of range. As Barkley backs away, Hop returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Hop steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Barkley. Hop misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Barkley.

and Hop counters with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hop has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hop there as he acknowledges the shot. Barkley with a jab. Barkley clinches. Hop lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Barkley lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Barkley is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hop is defending well. Barkley can't get the takedown.

A quick uppercut on the inside from Hop. Barkley misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hop pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hop throws a head kick that misses. Nice straight punches there by Hop. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hop. Barkley is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barkley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hop dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Barkley. That did some damage! Barkley lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. A slow jab from Barkley misses its intended target. Hop was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Barkley throws a nice looking combination but Hop bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hop half committed to a counter leg kick. A slapping leg kick lands for Hop.
Barkley feints and then cracks Hop's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hop down. Barkley is looking to clinch. Barkley shoots in for a double leg but Hop sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Hop throws a sloppy head kick and Barkley moves out of range easily. Barkley scoring well with a low kick there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barkley swings for the body but Hop moves out of range.

and Hop counters with a nice low kick that buckles Barkley's knee momentarily. Barkley looks winded! Barkley throws a lazy uppercut
and Hop counters with a slapping leg kick. Barkley throws a right hand that misses
and Hop counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Ross Barkley has been cut. Hop thuds a left hand into Barkley's body. Hop lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Barkley falls backwards - clearly groggy! Hop dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hip Hop! Hip Hop retains his heavyweight title! Hip Hop spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
