Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tahar Heart (ranked 18386 p4p, 118 weight class) and Ryan Griffin (ranked 7170 p4p, 195 weight class). Tahar Heart has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tahar Heart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Griffin! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin misses with a takedown attempt - Heart sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Griffin dives in and grabs Heart's left leg, looking for a takedown. Heart pushes down on Griffin's head and hops out. Ryan Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Griffin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Heart's half guard. Heart makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Heart connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Heart takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Griffin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Griffin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Griffin on the wrong end of a nice jab. Griffin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Griffin there as he acknowledges the shot. Nice jab there from Heart. Griffin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Heart manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Griffin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Griffin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Heart works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Griffin chips away with some ground and pound. Heart not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Griffin with a flurry of punches that miss. Heart has his hands on Griffin's head, controlling the position. Griffin postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin stands up over Heart, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Heart seems keen to control Griffin's posture. Griffin postures up and lands a big shot to Heart's brow. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Griffin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Griffin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Heart's head. Griffin passes Heart's left leg - he's now in half guard. Heart has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Griffin is working away from the top position though. Griffin wants to work for an arm triangle but Heart is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Griffin not landing any meaningful shots this time. Griffin working the head and body with strikes. Heart is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Heart on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Heart tries to get out of the position. Heart slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Griffin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Heart trying to control the position.
Griffin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Griffin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Heart knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Griffin on the ground. Griffin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Griffin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Heart controlling the position. Heart continues to stall. Griffin working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Heart pulls Griffin in to control the position. Griffin scoring with some ground and pound.
Heart is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Oh Heart is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Griffin arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Heart's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ryan Griffin! Ryan Griffin thanked the fans post fight for their support. Tahar Heart was interviewed post fight and said 'Great fight, congratulations to my opponent for another big win.'.
