Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyler Green! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Tournament! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Green scores with a nice strike. Green scores with a jab to the jaw. Tournament rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Green counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Tournament shoots in looking for a takedown but Green manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tournament's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Green jabs Tournament right on the nose. Tournament blinks but takes it well. Green lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Tournament dives in and grabs Green's left leg, looking for a takedown. Green pushes down on Tournament's head and hops out. Green lands with a straight right. Tournament didn't see that one coming. Green misses with a few strikes there.
No luck for Tournament with that takedown attempt. Tyler Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Tournament. Tournament tries for a takedown but Green circles away easily and Green counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tournament with a lazy takedown attempt and Tournament takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Tournament ducks right into an uppercut from Green.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tournament swings widly with a right hand
and Green connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tournament is rocked! Green throws a combination that misses and Tournament counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Green wants to stand back up but Tournament manages to pass into side control.
Tournament is still in real trouble! Can Green finish him? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tournament controls the position from side control. Tournament seems to have recovered his senses. Tournament tries for a kimura but Green is defending well. Green wants to get back to his feet but Tournament is dominant here and he's now got Green's back! Green is trying to get back to his feet but Tournament has full control of the position and if anything, Green has just worked his way into a worse spot. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tournament is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Green has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Tournament has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Green taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Tournament doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Greg Tournament! After winning the bout, Greg Tournament thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
