The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McSteamy misses with a jab, cross combination.
White closes the distance and clinches. McSteamy misses with an elbow strike.

White looks gassed! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McSteamy darts in trying to clinch and White counters with a nice double leg into side control. McSteamy won't be happy with that. McSteamy is looking to regain half guard here but White keeps moving and retains side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. White is trying to get an arm triangle but McSteamy is defending well. McSteamy manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. McSteamy trying to control from the bottom.
White is trying to control the action in half guard but McSteamy is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. McSteamy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McSteamy tries to get out of the position. White prevents McSteamy from improving his position. McSteamy is trying to control but can't.
White is looking for submissions but instead, McSteamy has regained full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. McSteamy is trying to control the position but White postures up. McSteamy striking off his back but it's not causing White any problems. White being controlled here momentarily. White controlling from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. McSteamy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. White wants to control from the top but McSteamy keeps moving. McSteamy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. White stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McSteamy swivels though and keeps the full guard. McSteamy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. White shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. McSteamy tries to reverse the position but White maintains control. McSteamy is working hard here to advance position. White sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! A nice elbow there by White. White trying to control but McSteamy is having none of it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. White stands up from mount. Strange move. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Sloan McSteamy will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
White changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McSteamy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. White looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. McSteamy is positioning himself to get back to half guard. White is staying tight to McSteamy's torso, preventing him from escaping. McSteamy tries to buck White off but White is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. White decides to stand back up. White tries to keep at a distance but McSteamy has taken the fight into the clinch. McSteamy lands an elbow inside.
It looks like Fred White has been cut. McSteamy lands a knee to the body.
White is breathing heavily. McSteamy gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. McSteamy lands an elbow that stopped White in his tracks for a moment. White takes an elbow to the forehead. McSteamy misses with an elbow over the top. McSteamy gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. White avoids a wild elbow strike from McSteamy. White changes levels and goes for a takedown here. McSteamy fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McSteamy has closed the distance and engaged White in a clinch.

McSteamy creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through White's defenses.
That has opened up Fred White's cut even more. McSteamy lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. McSteamy lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. McSteamy comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
The cut above Fred White's eye is starting to cause him problems now. McSteamy misses with an elbow over the top. White is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. McSteamy lands an elbow inside that White shrugs off. McSteamy lands an elbow just above White 's eye.
Fred White's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. White takes an elbow to the forehead. White dodges an elbow strike from McSteamy.
McSteamy gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Fred White's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
