Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Teach (ranked 2476 p4p, 281 weight class) and Momochi Takamura (ranked 4632 p4p, 441 weight class). Takamura has chosen white fang as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teach takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Teach tries to clinch there but Takamura circles away.
Teach looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Takamura moves into range and connects with a jab.
Takamura misses with a combination

and Teach counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Teach can't get the takedown.
Teach prevents a body shot from Takamura.
Takamura misses with a punch on the inside.
Teach blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Takamura tries to work over Teach's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Teach lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Nice body punch from Takamura - that landed with a thud.

Teach is trying to trip Takamura. He has hold of a leg but Takamura is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Teach persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Takamura is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Teach presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Takamura misses with some punches.

Teach pulls guard effortlessly.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Teach holds on and takes a little breather.
Takamura wants to control from the top but Teach keeps moving.
Teach looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Teach is working hard here to advance position.
Teach might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Teach manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Takamura manages to get himself to full guard.

Takamura can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Teach controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Takamura is trying to control the position but Teach postures up.
Teach stands up over Takamura, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Teach postures up in Takamura's guard and throws a big left but Takamura blocks it.

Takamura is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Teach stands and throws Takamura's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Teach tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Teach has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Takamura tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Teach wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Takamura is looking for a sweep.
Takamura wants to control but Teach postures up.
Teach is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Takamura will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Takamura is not content to let Teach control the position.
Teach remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Teach in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Teach is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Takamura is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Teach remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Takamura is looking for a sweep.

Marshall Teach dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Takamura swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Takamura scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Takamura connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Takamura shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Teach eats them both and turns towards Takamura to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Takamura throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
As Takamura tries to get set, Teach tries to push him back and clinch up but Takamura manages to avoid the attempt.
Teach throws a lazy uppercut
and Takamura counters with a two punch combo.
A jab from Takamura misses.
Takamura throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Teach holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Takamura works on Teach's body with a couple of short punches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Takamura misses with the head strike.
Takamura has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Takamura tries a body shot but Teach blocks it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Teach as Takamura tries to tie him up.

Takamura tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Teach.

Teach successfully pulls guard.
Takamura wants to pass the guard but Teach is keeping the position.
Takamura must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Teach has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Takamura should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Teach has tightened it up now! Takamura should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Marshall Teach was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Momochi Takamura was interviewed post fight and said 'This isn't the end Takamura will be back and all these mice will be in trouble against the hawk'.
