The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Roberson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carter napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Roberson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carter keeps working.
Carter gets back to half guard.
Roberson wants to take a breather but Carter is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roberson prevents Carter from improving his position.
Roberson is nestled in close to Carter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Roberson seems to be working for a kimura but Carter defends the submission attempt.

Carter is pulling down on Roberson's head to control his posture.
Roberson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Roberson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Roberson showed some decent athleticism there.
Carter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Roberson is working away from the top position though.
Roberson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carter is just riding it out for now. Roberson eventually gives up the hold.

Carter looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Roberson is defending well. Carter quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Roberson has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Carter celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
