Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between David Yates (ranked 5463 p4p, 506 weight class) and Jose Rizal (ranked 5381 p4p, 499 weight class). Rizal has chosen Noypi by Bamboo as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Yates! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jose Rizal! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yates throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Yates fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Rizal is out of range. Yates sets himself, and Rizal steps forward looking for the clinch! Yates avoids it this time. A head kick misses from Yates. Yates throws a sloppy head kick and Rizal counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rizal. Yates tries to break free but Rizal pushes him back against the ropes. Yates wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Yates wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rizal lands an elbow just above Yates 's eye.
It looks like David Yates has been cut. Rizal lands a body punch in the clinch. Yates tries to circle away but Rizal has him pinned against the ropes. Rizal scores with a hook to the body. Rizal presses Yates against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Yates wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rizal keeps control of Yates as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Yates wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rizal has him pressed against the ropes. Rizal comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Yates wants to break the clinch but can't.

Rizal works on Yates's body with a couple of short punches. With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Rizal creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Yates tries to circle away but Rizal has him pinned against the ropes. Yates wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Rizal lands with a shot to the body. Rizal scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Rizal stuns Yates with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Rizal scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Yates to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
David Yates's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Rizal closes the distance and catches Yates with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Yates is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Yates is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Yates is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Rizal takes it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Jose Rizal! Jose Rizal decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
