Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elijah Haley (ranked 25081 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Heyman (ranked 5302 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Elijah Haley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Heyman!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heyman is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Haley's half guard.
Heyman sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Haley defending well though.
Haley moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Heyman wants to pass the guard but Haley is keeping the position.
Heyman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Haley has his foot on Heyman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Heyman works his way back into a safe position though.
Haley wants to sweep here but Heyman controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Haley is working hard here to advance position.

Heyman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Haley is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Heyman, into his guard.

Heyman has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Haley has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Haley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
A head punch on the inside from Haley fails to land.

Haley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Heyman moves into the clinch.

Heyman jumps into guard, dragging Haley to the mat.

Haley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Heyman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Haley has managed to get both his arms back between Heyman's legs - danger averted.
Heyman has control of Haley's left arm, preventing Haley from doing any damage.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Heyman pulls Haley in close to prevent any damage.

Haley is fighting to break Heyman's control of his arms but Heyman is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Haley throws a strike but Heyman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Haley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Heyman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Heyman passes into half guard.
Haley tries to roll over but Heyman keeps him under control.
Heyman content to control rather than advance.

Heyman is working for a kimura but Haley is defending it quite comfortably.
Haley holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Heyman perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Haley slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Heyman stays in close to Haley's body and controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Haley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Heyman has Haley up against the cage in a clinch.

Haley tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Heyman just stands there and leans against the cage.

Haley fails to land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Heyman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Heyman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Haley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Heyman passes Haley's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Heyman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Haley doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Heyman.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Heyman stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Heyman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Haley is trying to defend but Heyman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Heyman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Heyman tries to pass to full mount but Haley defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Heyman decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Heyman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Haley was covering up waiting for the punch and Heyman finishes the takedown easily into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Heyman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Heyman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Heyman gets the takedown into side control.
Haley tries to get back to half guard but can't.
A lull in the action here.
Haley tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Heyman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
You can see the frustration on Haley's face as Heyman controls the position.
Haley is not content to let Heyman control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Heyman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Heyman is looking for a triangle but Haley pushes his legs off easily.

Heyman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Haley's guard.

Haley has his foot on Heyman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Heyman works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Heyman shoots in and gets a takedown into Haley's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Heyman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Heyman misses with a two punch combination.
Haley takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Heyman has taken the fight to the clinch.

Heyman gets a trip takedown into half guard.
