Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex Knee (ranked 5740 p4p, 511 weight class) and Jack Spriggins (ranked 3921 p4p, 414 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Spriggins!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spriggins tries to work over Knee's front leg with a kick but Knee checks it.
Knee is looking to clinch.

Spriggins gets tackled into the cage by Knee. Knee maintains the clinch.

Knee's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Spriggins swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Spriggins throws the kick towards the body but Knee avoids it.
Knee takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Spriggins closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Knee misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Knee is working for takedown but Spriggins is calmly controlling the position for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Knee has his takedown stuffed
and Spriggins counters with a series of strikes. Knee will be more careful next time no doubt.
Knee is trying hard to land a takedown here. Spriggins sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Knee has his foot on Spriggins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Spriggins works his way back into a safe position though.

Spriggins cracks Knee with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Knee tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Spriggins just stands there and leans against the cage.

Spriggins does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Spriggins can't find room to land a body shot as Knee controls the action.
Knee is trying to drag Spriggins to the mat but Spriggins just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
