Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Flint Beaswood (ranked 5105 p4p, 548 weight class) and Derrick Dark (ranked 5256 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Flint Beaswood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Derrick Dark! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dark tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A counter left hand to the body from Beaswood misses its target. Beaswood shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Dark counters with a left and a right that stings Beaswood. Dark scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Beaswood wants to control but Dark postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Beaswood manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dark's best efforts. Dark is looking to advance position but Beaswood won't allow it. Beaswood is trying is best to control the position here. Dark trying to control the action but Beaswood is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beaswood wants to control but Dark is keeping busy and won't allow it. Beaswood wants to improve his position but Dark is controlling well.
Dark working over Beaswood with some ground and pound. Beaswood looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Dark trying to pass the guard but Beaswood defending well. Beaswood tries to get to full guard but Dark has control of the leg. Beaswood is working hard here to advance position. Beaswood manages to get to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dark throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Dark working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Beaswood is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Dark is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Dark closes the distance and pushes Beaswood back into the cage. Dark gets underhooks to prevent Beaswood's takedown attempt.
Dark gets control of Beaswood's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dark will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Beaswood trying to control the position from guard on top but Dark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beaswood is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Dark thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Dark keeping moving, preventing Beaswood from controlling successfully. Beaswood lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Beaswood with a nice head shot there. Dark is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dark can do anything to dispel that myth. Beaswood postures up.
Dark really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beaswood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dark looks winded! Beaswood thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Dark keeping full guard, as Beaswood tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Beaswood content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Beaswood stands and throws Dark's legs to the side, diving into side control. Beaswood thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Beaswood advances nicely into full mount. A nice elbow there by Beaswood. Beaswood content just to control the position here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dark taking shots to the head. Beaswood looking to control and managing it successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Flint Beaswood will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nice takedown defense from Dark. No joy for Beaswood on that attempt. Beaswood looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Beaswood tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dark sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Beaswood somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Flint Beaswood. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dark bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dark in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Beaswood is trying to control Dark's posture but Dark avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dark lands a few punches from side control. Beaswood tries to bench press Dark off him but Dark keeps the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Beaswood keeps Dark under control for a moment. Dark cracks Beaswood with an elbow. That is naaassty. Beaswood is trying to control Dark's posture but Dark avoids it. Beaswood is trying to improve his position. Beaswood tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oooh a big shot gets through from Dark. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Beaswood trying to control the hands but Dark breaks the grip. Flint Beaswood overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dark doesn't have the hooks in and Beaswood manages to turn into his guard.
Beaswood postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Beaswood passes easily into side control. Nice work. Dark is breathing heavily. Dark being controlled for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beaswood connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dark some visible discomfort.
Beaswood is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dark has escaped the position, nice work there. Beaswood cracks Dark with a big elbow. Beaswood is chipping away with strikes.
Dark is not content to let Beaswood control the position. Beaswood grinds an elbow into Dark's temple.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beaswood scoring with punches and elbows. Beaswood trying to control the position but Dark is working away. Beaswood scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Dark to see if he's OK. Beaswood looks up at the clock and then as Dark takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Beaswood smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Beaswood tries to stand but Dark is controlling his head. Dark takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Dark is rocked! A big shot lands for Beaswood! That's hurt Dark! Will he recover? Beaswood fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Flint Beaswood!
