Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Budimon (ranked 1521 p4p, 177 weight class) and Brian Grimes (ranked 1436 p4p, 170 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Budimon throws a quick inside leg kick.
Some wild striking there from Grimes.
Budimon ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Budimon clobbers Grimes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Budimon throws a hook but Grimes blocks it.
A solid leg kick lands there for Budimon.
Budimon throws a left and a right that both miss
and Grimes cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Budimon throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Budimon connects with a looping right hand.
Budimon throws a looping overhand right but Grimes ducks down to avoid it.
Budimon misses with a straight left.
Budimon swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Grimes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Budimon stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Budimon dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Grimes. That did some damage!

Grimes takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Budimon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Grimes sees it coming and avoids it easily.
It seemed like Grimes was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Budimon looks to land a left hand but Grimes moved out of range nicely.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Grimes! But no joy.

Grimes unleashes a big counter combination but Budimon bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Grimes throws a leg kick which misses Budimon's front leg but catches the back leg as Budimon tries to avoid it.

Grimes takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Budimon keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Budimon fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Grimes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Budimon lands with an uppercut that bounces Grimes off the cage and back into range.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Grimes lands a left and a right that send Budimon crashing to the mat, dazed. Grimes thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

No joy there for Grimes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Budimon swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Oh Budimon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

A quick step to the side and Budimon tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Brian Grimes opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
