Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Bones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlos Junior! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bones scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Junior shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bones as he jumps to the side. Bones is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Junior. Junior tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bones swivels and escapes. Bones is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Junior. Carlos Junior seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bones changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Bones scores with a nice head shot. Junior changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bones tries to avoid it but Junior manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bones to the ground. Bones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jon Bones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Junior. Bones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bones lands a nice looking body shot.
Junior shoots in for a takedown but Bones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bones lands a nice hook to Junior's body. Junior takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Junior shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bones as he jumps to the side. Junior tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bones swivels and escapes. Junior looks winded! Junior is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Bones sizes up Junior with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Junior darts in looking for a takedown but Bones gets double underhooks and turns Junior into the cage. Bones lands a two punch combo.
Good exchange - Bones coming out on top. Junior has a takedown stuffed.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bones cracks Junior with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Junior looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Bones finish him?
Junior is rocked! Bones connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Junior covering up! Bones comes in with a big uppercut and Junior goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jon Bones!
