Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Disco Kid (ranked 643 p4p, 72 weight class) and Lewis Burwell Puller (ranked 2005 p4p, 180 weight class). Lewis Burwell Puller has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Disco Kid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lewis Burwell Puller!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puller swings for the body but Kid moves out of range.
Lewis Burwell Puller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Puller throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A little feinted left hand from Kid on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Donk. Kid catches Puller right on the button with a cross.
Puller rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Kid counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kid stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Puller swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kid is working hard here to advance position.
Puller looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kid is one step ahead there.
Kid throws a big right hand that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Puller is trying to control the position but Kid postures up.
Kid preventing the sweep.
Kid has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kid wants to control from the top but Puller keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Puller is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kid trying to control the position from guard on top but Puller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Puller is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kid throws out a powerful jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kid. Puller does a little dance to reset his feet.

Kid throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Puller tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kid is in Puller's guard.

Puller is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kid defends well.
Kid trying to control the position from guard on top but Puller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kid connects with a couple of short punches.
Kid with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Puller looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kid is one step ahead there.
Kid trying to control but Puller is working from the bottom.
Kid trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Puller working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Kid has passed into half guard!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kid is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Kid connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Kid punishing his opponent with strikes.
Kid lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Kid postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Puller looks a forlorn figure.
Kid landing strikes from the mount and Puller is in trouble!
Kid content just to control the position here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kid lands with some strikes.
Puller tries to hold on but Kid postures up.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Puller in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.


Puller is rocked!
Kid working the ground and pound effectively.
Puller is still in real trouble! Can Kid finish him?
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kid cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Kid postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Puller bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Kid and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Disco Kid!
An out of breath Disco Kid thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
