Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Mallone (ranked 1800 p4p, 209 weight class) and Garaile Lban (ranked 1927 p4p, 219 weight class). Garaile Lban will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Mallone!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Garaile Lban!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mallone throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Lban counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Mallone throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lban sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lban is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Mallone with a body shot.
A shot to the liver by Lban. Beautiful body shot.
Jason Mallone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lban is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Mallone throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lban tries to move into range but Mallone moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Mallone shoots in looking for a takedown but Lban manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mallone's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mallone fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lban sprawls well initially but Mallone persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lban can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lban really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mallone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mallone is stalling here. Lban is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Mallone seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lban has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Mallone manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lban wants to take a breather but Mallone is having none of it.

Mallone is striking but Lban is not phased and passes to half guard.
Mallone has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mallone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mallone is looking to control Lban's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mallone avoid being mounted?

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Lban is looking to take a break and control but Mallone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mallone is controlling Lban's position as best he can from this difficult position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Lban scores with a hook to the body. Mallone takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lban clobbers Mallone with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Mallone fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lban manages to avoid it.
Mallone throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lban was covering up waiting for the punch and Mallone finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mallone postures up in Lban's guard and throws a big left but Lban blocks it.
Mallone lands a couple of decent looking shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jason Mallone will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mallone's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

enabling Lban to counter with a crisp jab.

Mallone loads up on a big right hand but Lban slips the punch.
Lban lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Mallone thows a left - swing and a miss!
Mallone misses with a hook
and Lban cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lban checks a low kick from Mallone.
Mallone walks straight into a right hand from Lban - that's dropped him! Lban jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Mallone from any more punishment! Mallone complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Garaile Lban!

Garaile Lban decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
