PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Orton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silvio Riscatelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orton comes to the cage accompanied by What the World Needs Is a Few More Rednecks by Charlie Daniels. Riscatelli comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Speak Softly Love kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The key to victory for Jason Orton has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Orton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Silvio Riscatelli!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Riscatelli.
Riscatelli looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Orton is avoiding damage well.

Riscatelli working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Orton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Riscatelli on the ground.
Orton pushes Riscatelli away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Riscatelli gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Riscatelli wants to control but Orton is keeping him busy.

Riscatelli tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Riscatelli has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Riscatelli drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Orton manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Riscatelli has Orton in his guard.

Riscatelli had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Orton is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Riscatelli Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Orton's back instead.
A lull in the action here.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Riscatelli shoots in and bounces Orton off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Riscatelli is pressing down on Orton's thigh, looking to free his foot. Orton is holding on for now.
Riscatelli slows the pace down in half guard.
Riscatelli looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Orton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Riscatelli.

Riscatelli is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Orton knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Riscatelli goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Orton has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Riscatelli but great work by Orton.

Riscatelli is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Riscatelli is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Riscatelli moves into full guard.
Orton has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Riscatelli is proving hard to escape from.
Riscatelli tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Orton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Orton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Riscatelli escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Orton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silvio Riscatelli showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Riscatelli shoots in but Orton avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Riscatelli closes the distance and clinches up with Orton, looking for a takedown. Riscatelli pushes Orton against the cage but Orton circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Orton fails to land with a series of punches.

Jason Orton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Silvio Riscatelli.

Riscatelli changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Orton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
