Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chief Ute (ranked 5296 p4p, 556 weight class) and James Nelson (ranked 3301 p4p, 412 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chief Ute! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Nelson! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ute rushes Nelson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Nelson. Ute swings wildly with an uppercut but Nelson uses good head movement to avoid it. A short right from Ute on the inside. Ute lands a shoulder strike. A head punch on the inside from Ute fails to land. Ute swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Ute misses with a short punch on the inside. Ute misses with a hook from the clinch. Ute softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Nelson blocks an uppercut.

Ute has a couple of punches blocked by Nelson.
Nelson is trying to pull guard but Ute has him pressed against the cage. Nelson blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Ute lands a shoulder strike. Ute fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Nelson. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ute misses with some punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ute lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Nelson is trying to break free. Nelson successfully pulls guard.
Ute trying to stand up but can't free himself from Nelson's guard. Nelson managing to control the position. Ute looking to sit in guard and control but Nelson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ute throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Nelson escapes and throws Ute's legs to the side, diving into side control! Ute can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson is staying tight to Ute's torso, preventing him from escaping. Nelson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ute has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ute struggling a bit here. Ute on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ute tries to get out of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ute tries to improve position but can't. The referee asks Nelson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Nelson prefers to stall for the moment though. Ute is trying to improve his position. Nelson controls the position. Ute tries to get back to half guard but can't. Ute can't do much from the bottom here. Ute tries to bench press Nelson off him but Nelson keeps the position. Ute takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Ute is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nelson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ute's shoulder. That is not cool. Ute is looking to regain half guard here but Nelson keeps moving and retains side control. Ute seems a little lost for a moment, as Nelson dominates the positioning. Ute wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Nelson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ute will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ute is trying to get back to half guard. Ute is working hard here to advance position. Nelson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Ute tries to bench press Nelson off him but Nelson keeps the position. Nelson controlling from side mount. Ute is looking for a sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Chief Ute will probably get the nod. That's time! Ute's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ute closes the distance and pushes Nelson back into the cage. Nelson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Ute lands an uppercut. Nelson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nelson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Nelson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Ute wants to control from the top but Nelson keeps moving. Ute wants to stand and escape but instead Nelson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ute looking for subs off his back but Nelson has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson is taking a breather. Ute says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Ute trying to hold on to Nelson's head to control him but Nelson postures up.
Nelson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Nelson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ute! Nelson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ute hang on? Ute is trying to reverse the position but instead Nelson has taken his back - oops! Nelson controls the position. Nelson landing with strikes. Nelson controlling from the back. Ute can't escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ute trying to control the hands but Nelson breaks the grip. Ute tries to roll but Nelson sticks to his back.
Nelson trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Ute doesn't escape. Ute tries to break free.
Ute is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Ute wants to escape the position.
Ute trying to control but not successfully. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nelson is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Nelson controlling the position well here. Ute rolled but Nelson kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ute rolls, trying to escape but Nelson keeps control of the position.
Nelson is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. You can see the frustration on Ute's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Nelson controls the action. I really don't envy Ute right now.
Nelson is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Ute taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Nelson.
