Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grover Dowiyogo (ranked 5993 p4p, 598 weight class) and Connor Mac Burns (ranked 2165 p4p, 301 weight class). Dowiyogo comes to the cage accompanied by another life - kano. Burns has chosen as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

29 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Connor Mac Burns! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burns ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dowiyogo moves away. Dowiyogo wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Burns connects with a single shot there. Dowiyogo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burns manages to avoid it. Burns looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Burns closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dowiyogo did well to prevent Burns getting side control. Burns seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Burns trying to pass the guard but Dowiyogo defending well. Burns slows the pace down in half guard. Dowiyogo is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Burns jumps into side control! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Burns controls the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns tries for a kimura but Dowiyogo is defending well. Dowiyogo is wriggling around trying to escape but Burns has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Dowiyogo taps out and Burns picks up the big win! Great work there by Burns!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Connor Mac Burns! In his post fight interview, Connor Mac Burns started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
