Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Janu Haperenu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miyamoto Usagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Janu Haperenu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Miyamoto Usagi!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haperenu misses with a hook. Usagi ducked under it nicely.
Haperenu shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Usagi as he jumps to the side.
Usagi lands a head kick!


It looks like Janu Haperenu has been cut.
Haperenu fails with a takedown attempt.
Miyamoto Usagi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.

A head kick lands from Usagi that sends Haperenu to the canvas. Haperenu tries to scramble back to his feet but Usagi brings him back down into side control.
Haperenu being controlled for a moment.
Haperenu is trying to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Haperenu manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Usagi is defending against the submission attempts here by Haperenu.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Haperenu is working for a submission of some sort.

Haperenu is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Usagi has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Usagi holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Haperenu is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Haperenu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Usagi is just riding it out for now. Haperenu eventually gives up the hold.

Haperenu seems to be looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Haperenu.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Janu Haperenu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Haperenu is breathing heavily.
Usagi drops Haperenu with a beautiful combination! Haperenu stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Usagi is looking for the KO!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miyamoto Usagi dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Janu Haperenu's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Usagi throws a quick head kick that knocks Haperenu silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Usagi is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Miyamoto Usagi!
