In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 6 losses; Matvey Pavlov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 31 wins and 10 losses; Michael Blake!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and Columbo Gatti.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Blake darts in looking for a takedown but Pavlov gets double underhooks and turns Blake into the cage.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pavlov gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Blake.
Blake prevents a takedown attempt there.

Blake wants the takedown. Pavlov is fighting it off but Blake persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Pavlov's guard against the cage.

Pavlov keeping moving, preventing Blake from controlling successfully.
Pavlov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pavlov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blake doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blake manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pavlov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Blake defends it easily.

Pavlov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Pavlov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Blake wants to improve his position but Pavlov is controlling well.
Pavlov slows the pace down in half guard.
Pavlov trying to mount his opponent but Blake defends it.

Pavlov wants to advance to full mount but Blake doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Pavlov wants to control from the top but Blake keeps moving.

Pavlov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Blake manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pavlov has Blake in his guard.

Pavlov throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Blake escapes and throws Pavlov's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Pavlov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Blake gets to mount! Pavlov was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Pavlov really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
My spies in Gym Beam inform me that Blake has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Pavlov is trying to reverse the position but instead Blake has taken his back - oops!

Pavlov is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Pavlov is trying to roll into a better position but Blake has get a rear naked choke and Pavlov is forced to tap out! This one is allllll over!
