Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lenny Maldonado (ranked 23739 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bagus Mims (ranked 7600 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lenny Maldonado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bagus Mims! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mims is looking to clinch. Maldonado shoots in and drives through. Mims sprawls well. A clash of legs there as Maldonado blocks the low kick. Mims misses with a lunging right hand
and Maldonado counters with a nice uppercut. Mims misses with a leg kick. Maldonado seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Mims throws a head kick that misses. Mims closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mims lands in his opponent's guard. Maldonado keeping moving, preventing Mims from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maldonado lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maldonado working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Mims wants to control but Maldonado passes easily into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mims can do anything to dispel that myth. Mims is trying to maintain the position but Maldonado is very close to passing his half guard. Maldonado tries to stand but can't do so whilst Mims controls his leg. Maldonado takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mims trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Mims is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maldonado with the ground and pound from mount. Mims regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maldonado is looking to take a break and control but Mims is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maldonado takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Mims tries to roll over but Maldonado keeps him under control. Maldonado is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mims is just riding it out for now. Maldonado eventually gives up the hold. Mims tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Maldonado has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Maldonado avoids the attempt from Mims to control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Maldonado lands a nice shot to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lenny Maldonado dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Mims tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mims looks to throw a body kick and Maldonado counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Maldonado moves away from the strike by Mims. Mims throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Maldonado is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mims can do to turn this around? Mims tries to clinch up. Maldonado wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Mims throws a head kick that misses and Mims takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mims thows a leg kick but Maldonado checks it and Maldonado counters with a leg kick. Mims wants to clinch up but Maldonado keeps it at a distance. Mims fails in his attempt to clinch. Mims slaps away a takedown attempt from Maldonado, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bagus Mims seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mims tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maldonado paws at him with a jab and circles away. Maldonado swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Mims connects with an inside leg kick. Maldonado ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Maldonado is defended easily by Mims. Mims swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mims misses with a kick to the body and Maldonado counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Maldonado changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mims tries to avoid it but Maldonado manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mims to the ground. Mims escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lenny Maldonado. That's going to take a lot out of him. Maldonado slips a jab and a cross from Mims.
A little feinted left hand from Maldonado on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Mims swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Maldonado really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mims throws a lazy head kick and Maldonado holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Maldonado stalling the fight.
Mims's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mims cracks a nice hook into Maldonado's ribs. Mims throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mims throws the kick towards the body but Maldonado avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mims closes the distance looking to clinch enabling Maldonado to counter with a crisp jab. Mims misses with a looping left. Mims misses with a hook
and Maldonado counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mims misses the shot to the body. It looked like Maldonado wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maldonado gets caught napping as Mims dives in and scores a takedown. Maldonado manages to retain guard. Maldonado striking off his back but it's not causing Mims any problems. Mims trying to move into half guard but instead Maldonado has managed to sweep!
Mims really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maldonado. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mims looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maldonado is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mims is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Mims controls Maldonado momentarily but Maldonado frees himself. Mims is looking to sweep but instead, Maldonado has passed into half guard.
Mims tries to roll over but Maldonado keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lenny Maldonado overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Maldonado working the head and body with strikes. Mims wants to control but Maldonado is keeping busy and won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Lenny Maldonado will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Mims is looking to clinch. Bagus Mims is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mims throws a looping overhand right but Maldonado ducks down to avoid it. Mims looks to clinch letting Maldonado counter with a right hand. A punch lands to the side of Mims 's head but he takes it in his stride. Mims tries to land a leg kick but Maldonado saw it coming and moves away.

Mims throws a leg kick that misses. Maldonado tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Mims manages to circle out of the way. Mims closes the distance looking to clinch and Maldonado counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mims throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Maldonado sees it coming and avoids it easily. Mims misses with an uppercut. Maldonado saw that one coming. Maldonado gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mims to score an easy takedown into full guard. Maldonado keeping moving, preventing Mims from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maldonado throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Mims looking to sit in guard and control but Maldonado gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mims controls Maldonado momentarily but Maldonado frees himself. Mims wants to control but Maldonado passes easily into half guard.
Maldonado thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mims trying to control but Maldonado postures up.
Maldonado thows a huge punch but Mims dodges it nicely.
Maldonado missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Mims is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Maldonado scores with a couple of nice shots. Mims wants to control but Maldonado passes into side.
Maldonado thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mims tries to get back to half guard but can't. Maldonado is looking to take a break and control but Mims is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mims tries to improve position but can't. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Maldonado gets to mount! Mims was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Mims tries to reverse the position but Maldonado maintains control. Maldonado raining down shots from the mount! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mims is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Lenny Maldonado showed his dominance in that final round. Well Maldonado has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
