Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Allen Jones Jr (ranked 5440 p4p, 521 weight class) and Hulk Hogan (ranked 8114 p4p, 606 weight class). Hogan has chosen My Time Is Now as his entrance music. Hulk Hogan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hulk Hogan! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hogan closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jones Jr's guard. Hogan with a flurry of punches that miss. Hogan postures up in Jones Jr's guard and throws a big left but Jones Jr blocks it. Jones Jr is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hogan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hogan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hogan postures up and lands a big shot to Jones Jr's brow. Hogan landing with the ground and pound. Hogan lands a couple of digs. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hogan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hogan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hogan throws a big elbow that misses. Hogan wants to control from the top but Jones Jr keeps moving.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hogan loads up on a big right hand but Jones Jr slips the punch. Hogan feints and as Jones Jr raises his hands in defense, Hogan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Jones Jr has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Hogan is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Hogan misses with a short punch on the inside. Jones Jr looking to slow down the pace here. Jones Jr prevents a body shot from Hogan. Hogan's coach down at ELITE Island Gym - 19 Elite Coaches was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hogan's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Jones Jr has a couple of punches blocked by Hogan.

Hogan has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Jones Jr is trying to keep an underhook but Hogan manages to get the takedown into half guard. Jones Jr makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

It looks like Hulk Hogan has been cut. Hogan misses with a wild body shot. Jones Jr misses with a head kick.
Jones Jr tests Hogan's chin there with a solid looking shot. Hogan misses with a hook. Jones Jr ducked under it nicely. Jones Jr drops down looking for a counter takedown but Hogan sprawls and moves away. Jones Jr pulls out of a head kick attempt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones Jr wants to control but Hogan postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones Jr taking a bit of punishment here - Hogan scoring with strikes. Hogan misses with the ground and pound. Hogan takes a little break here. Jones Jr wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Hogan working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

A lazy left from Jones Jr finds it's target.
It looks like Allen Jones Jr has been cut. Hogan throws a jab when Jones Jr was well out of range. Jones Jr misses with a body shot.
Hogan throws a body shot but no joy. A combination from Jones Jr does no damage. Hulk Hogan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones Jr with a hook. Hogan takes one on the button. Jones Jr uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hogan. Jones Jr is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones Jr catches Hogan with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Hogan throws a big shot that misses. Jones Jr appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Hogan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hogan throws a strike but Jones Jr rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jones Jr will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hogan is looking for a sweep. Jones Jr is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Jones Jr is keen to just control but Hogan is a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hogan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jones Jr is looking to take a break and control but Hogan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hogan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hogan is still trying to improve position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hogan can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Hogan is looking to sweep but instead, Jones Jr has passed into half guard.

Hogan is taking a breather. Jones Jr says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hogan throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Jones Jr to regain full guard. Hogan struggles to land a body shot inside as Jones Jr controls his hands.

Hogan throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Hogan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones Jr keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hogan looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Jones Jr is avoiding damage well.

Hogan landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Hogan lands a decent elbow from side control. Hogan grinds an elbow into Jones Jr's temple. Sloppy strikes there by Hogan.
