Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Niudu Kakka (ranked 970 p4p, 125 weight class) and Wale Ammond (ranked 1446 p4p, 180 weight class). Ammond is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bad. Wale Ammond has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Niudu Kakka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wale Ammond!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kakka misses with a series of wild punches.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kakka wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kakka wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kakka is trying to push Ammond away but Ammond has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Ammond is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kakka is defending well.
Ammond drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kakka tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kakka wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ammond has him pressed against the cage.

Kakka fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ammond throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Kakka throws a big counter combination but Ammond scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Ammond scores with a head kick. Kakka tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kakka is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ammond is controlling him.

No joy there for Kakka, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ammond shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kakka as he jumps to the side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Niudu Kakka will probably get the nod.

Ammond swings around for an armbar but Kakka sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Ammond's guard.

Ammond's coach down at 3Band MMA ($800/week) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ammond's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ammond lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kakka has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kakka and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Ammond has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kakka clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Wale Ammond has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Ammond is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Kakka knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Kakka for a finish.

Ammond is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Kakka is defending well though. Ammond let's go of the attempt for now.

I would just about give that final round to Wale Ammond.
