Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eugeniy Petrov (ranked 1644 p4p, 245 weight class) and Stephan Letter (ranked 629 p4p, 102 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eugeniy Petrov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stephan Letter! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Petrov throws a hook but Letter avoids it easily. Letter keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Petrov misses with an uppercut. Letter saw that one coming. Petrov lands with an uppercut that bounces Letter off the cage and back into range. Petrov misses with an uppercut. Petrov scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Letter doesn't seem bothered though. Letter keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Letter swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Petrov smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Petrov misses with a looping right. Petrov dives in and scores a takedown into Letter's guard. Letter is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Petrov presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Letter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Letter slips under a jab. Petrov swings widly with a right hand
and Letter counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Petrov scores with a nice strike. Petrov connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Letter misses with a wild body shot. Petrov throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Petrov has his takedown stuffed and Letter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Letter lands with an uppercut that bounces Petrov off the cage and back into range. Letter's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Petrov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Letter scrambles back to his feet. Petrov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Letter now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Eugeniy Petrov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Petrov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Petrov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Letter is trying to stand up here but Petrov is controlling him well. Petrov throwing shots but Letter is blocking nicely. Petrov thows a huge punch but Letter dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Letter is defending against the submission attempts here by Petrov.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Petrov is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Petrov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Letter tries to kick Petrov off in order to stand up. Petrov Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Petrov tries to move to mount but Letter blocks the move with his legs. Petrov trying to control the position but Letter is working away. Letter managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Petrov.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Petrov swings around for an armbar but Letter sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Petrov's guard. Petrov wants to sweep but no luck. Petrov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Letter defends well. Petrov has an active guard here but Letter has managed to pass into half guard.
Petrov is pressing down on Letter's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Letter avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Petrov pulls Letter in close to his closed guard and prevents Letter from doing any damage or advancing position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephan Letter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Letter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Petrov circles away quickly and effectively. Petrov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Eugeniy Petrov is winning the standup battle so far. Petrov avoids the head kick by Letter.

and Letter counters with a head kick that drops Petrov to the mat! Petrov scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly! Petrov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Petrov wants to work for an arm triangle but Letter is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Petrov throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Petrov pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Petrov misses with a lunging right hand
and Letter counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Petrov off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Letter follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Petrov was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Stephan Letter! During a confident post fight interview, Stephan Letter thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
