Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov throws a hook but Letter avoids it easily.
Letter keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

and Letter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Letter lands with an uppercut that bounces Petrov off the cage and back into range.
Letter's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Petrov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Letter scrambles back to his feet.
Petrov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Letter now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Eugeniy Petrov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Petrov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Letter is trying to stand up here but Petrov is controlling him well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Petrov swings around for an armbar but Letter sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Petrov's guard.

Petrov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Letter defends well.

Petrov pulls Letter in close to his closed guard and prevents Letter from doing any damage or advancing position.

and Letter counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Petrov off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Letter follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Petrov was out before he hit the floor.

During a confident post fight interview, Stephan Letter thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
