Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jean Ragnoth (ranked 3025 p4p, 321 weight class) and Perrin Aibarra (ranked 6030 p4p, 517 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jean Ragnoth! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Perrin Aibarra! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ragnoth. Ragnoth could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Ragnoth shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Aibarra's guard. Ragnoth trying to control the position from guard on top but Aibarra is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ragnoth drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ragnoth jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Ragnoth works a leg free and moves into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ragnoth stands up from half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ragnoth tries to keep at a distance but Aibarra has taken the fight into the clinch. Aibarra breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Aibarra will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ragnoth up against the cage. Nice body punch from Aibarra - that landed with a thud.
Ragnoth is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Aibarra is defending well. Aibarra prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean Ragnoth. That's going to take a lot out of him. The referee calls for Aibarra to work.
Aibarra breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Perrin Aibarra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Aibarra takes the fight into the clinch. Ragnoth goes for a takedown in the clinch but Aibarra prevents it.

Ragnoth is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Aibarra lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aibarra drives through and clinches with Ragnoth against the cage.
Ragnoth is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Ragnoth has Aibarra pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Aibarra manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Aibarra pulls guard effortlessly. Ragnoth looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Ragnoth drops back looking for a leg! Aibarra is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Aibarra manages to kick Ragnoth off! Ragnoth jumps back into Aibarra's guard. Aibarra is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Ragnoth presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Aibarra lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ragnoth backwards. Aibarra stalling.
Aibarra is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Aibarra. Aibarra pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Aibarra tries to clinch but fails miserably and Ragnoth counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Aibarra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ragnoth. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ragnoth is trying for a kimura here. Aibarra looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Ragnoth wins by kimura!
