Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevenus Randleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Sturd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sturd has chosen Kanye West - Stronger as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevenus Randleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Sturd! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Randleman misses with an uppercut. Horrible takedown by Sturd or perhaps it was just good defense by Randleman which made him look bad. Some bone on bone action there as Sturd checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Sturd takes a body punch but keeps moving. Randleman with a nice cross.
It looks like Jason Sturd has been cut. The fighters circling - Randleman throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Randleman jabbing away but nothing is landing. Randleman lands a left and a right that sends Sturd crashing to the canvas! Randleman dives into mount looking to finish!

Randleman blocks Sturd's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Sturd is desperately trying to improve his position but Randleman has a good base and remains in mount. Randleman wants to get back to his feet but Sturd is holding on tight.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Randleman blocks the strikes from Sturd.
Sturd is pressing down on Randleman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Sturd has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sturd throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Randleman stopping the sweep attempt from Sturd. Randleman passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sturd can do anything to dispel that myth. Sturd looks gassed! Randleman blocks Sturd's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sturd really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Sturd gets back to half guard. Sturd moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Sturd throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Randleman tries to stand but Sturd is controlling from the bottom. Sturd trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sturd throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kevenus Randleman dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jason Sturd's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Randleman throws the left hand but Sturd avoids the punch easily. Randleman throws a body punch but Sturd moves out of range. Randleman fails to land with a series of punches.

Sturd decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Sturd missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Randleman is looking to escape.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sturd uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Randleman. Sturd shoots in for a takedown but Randleman shows good takedown defense. Sturd shoots for a double leg takedown but Randleman sprawls well. He's pushed Sturd's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kevenus Randleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Sturd. Sturd is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Randleman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Randleman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sturd moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A leg kick checked by Sturd. Randleman throws a head kick that misses. Kevenus Randleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sturd shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sturd was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Sturd connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Sturd landing strikes from the mount and Randleman is in trouble! Randleman is in a horrible position here. Sturd smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Randleman is rocked! Sturd lands a big shot to the head and Randleman winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
