Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vito Barrera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Lopez! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lopez rushes Barrera and presses him up against the cage. Lopez wants to take the fight to the mat but Barrera manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Lopez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Lopez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Barrera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Lopez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Barrera haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Lopez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barrera is one step ahead there. Barrera will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barrera gets to his feet. Lopez looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Lopez misses with a takedown attempt and Barrera counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Barrera. Lopez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lopez with a poor takedown and Barrera counters with a two punch combo. Vito Barrera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Lopez. Lopez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Barrera sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Barrera seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Lopez throws a series of punches but Barrera moves out of range. Barrera tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Lopez manages to circle out of the way. Lopez gets tackled into the cage by Barrera. Barrera maintains the clinch. Barrera pulls Lopez into guard.
Barrera is looking for a triangle but Lopez pushes his legs off easily.
Barrera looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Lopez has picked Barrera up and slammed him! Barrera can't keep hold of the triangle and Lopez manages to pass to side control! Barrera is not content to let Lopez control the position. Barrera manages to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Barrera is looking to escape. Barrera is defending against the submission attempts here by Lopez.
Lopez looks winded! Barrera pushes Lopez off looking to stand but Lopez dives back in and keeps control.
Lopez wants to control but Barrera is keeping him busy. Barrera wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barrera gets full guard. Barrera looking for a guillotine here but Lopez defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lopez stands and throws Barrera's legs to the side, diving into side control. Barrera wants to get back to his feet but Lopez is dominant here and he's now got Barrera's back! Lopez is persistently looking for the submission but Barrera is defending it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lopez really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Barrera. Barrera is really stuck here.
Barrera manages to stand up with Lopez still on his back. Eventually Lopez drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position. Barrera displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lopez. Lopez rushes Barrera and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Barrera gets a trip takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lopez tries to get to full guard but Barrera has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Vito Barrera will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Lopez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Barrera as he jumps to the side. Barrera appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Lopez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lopez misses the jab. As Lopez tries to get set, Barrera tries to push him back and clinch up but Lopez manages to avoid the attempt. Lopez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
