Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Menger (ranked 1241 p4p, 19 weight class) and Harald Knochmal (ranked 2589 p4p, 77 weight class). Menger comes into the arena with Shiny blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harald Knochmal! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Menger misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Menger with a poor takedown and Knochmal counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Carl Menger has been cut. Carl Menger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Knochmal misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Menger.
Menger fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carl Menger. That's going to take a lot out of him. Knochmal scores with a body shot.
Knochmal fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Knochmal tries to bum rush Menger with a series of wild strikes but Menger uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Knochmal lands with an overhand left. Menger will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Menger looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Knochmal can do anything to dispel that myth. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Knochmal controlling Menger's posture. Menger throwing strikes but missing. Knochmal is looking to stand up but Menger isn't so interested in that idea. Menger drops back looking for a leg! Knochmal is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Knochmal manages to kick Menger off! Menger jumps back into Knochmal's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knochmal seems keen to control Menger's posture. Knochmal told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Knochmal is continuing to stall. Knochmal tries to land a sweep but no joy. Knochmal lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Knochmal preventing the sweep. Menger seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Menger is controlling Knochmal's posture. That's two minutes gone in the round. Knochmal sitting in guard, not really doing much. Menger is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Knochmal stays in close to Menger's body and controls the position. Menger lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Knochmal looking to hit a scissor sweep but Menger is one step ahead there. Menger lands a couple of elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Menger throws a big right hand that misses. Menger throwing strikes from guard but Knochmal blocks nicely. Menger is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Knochmal is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Knochmal working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Menger. Menger might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Menger lands a couple of decent looking shots. Menger is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Menger missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Menger with a nice head shot there. Menger postures up.
Menger makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Knochmal is rocked! Menger loads up on a big left hand. Knochmal felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Menger looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Knochmal can't hide his disappointment, as Menger celebrates the victory.
