Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luther Head (ranked 25070 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodger Beltrad (ranked 4570 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luther Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rodger Beltrad!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Head looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Beltrad is nestled in close to Head, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The adventures of Beltrad the control monster continue. Boring.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Beltrad connects with a nice short shot to Head's temple.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Beltrad shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Head's guard.
Beltrad works over Head with some ground and pound from guard.
Head wants to get back to his feet but Beltrad is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rodger Beltrad has got the better of the ground game so far.
Beltrad is working Head over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Beltrad is in close to Head's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Beltrad slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Luther Head is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Beltrad shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Head manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Beltrad has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Beltrad's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Beltrad has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Let's hope that Beltrad has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Head has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Head flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Head tries to hold on but Beltrad postures up.
Beltrad breaks from Head's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Beltrad cracks Head with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Head wants to control but Beltrad is having none of it.
Oh Head is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Beltrad looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Head covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rodger Beltrad!
