Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Carter (ranked 3126 p4p, 334 weight class) and Christopher Fry (ranked 8098 p4p, 577 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Christopher Fry!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter throws a looping overhand right but Fry ducks down to avoid it.
Carter misses with a body shot.
Carter scores with a jab.

Carter scores with a jab. Fry acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Carter looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Carter cracks Fry with a right hand to the side of the head.
Carter throws a jab when Fry was well out of range.
Fry drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Carter defends it well.
Carter misses with a looping left.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Carter counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Carter thuds his right hand into Fry's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Fry is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
No joy there for Carter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
David Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carter tries to avoid it but Fry manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carter to the ground. Carter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Carter was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Fry walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Fry shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The fighters circle momentarily. Carter darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Carter misses the shot to the body.
Carter throws a lazy right hand but Fry sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Fry lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Carter lands with an uppercut that bounces Fry off the cage and back into range.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Carter dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Fry takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Nice uppercut lands for Carter. That snapped Fry's head back.
Fry closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Fry tries for a takedown but Carter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Carter lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Carter stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carter cracks Fry with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Fry takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

David Carter showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
