Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Josh Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alojz Sanel! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanel takes a body punch but keeps moving. Sanel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Peterson manages to avoid it. Peterson looks to land a right hand but Sanel moved out of range. Sanel wants to clinch and Peterson counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Alojz Sanel has been cut. Sanel misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Peterson counters with a stiff right hand. Sanel wants to clinch but Peterson slips to the side and Peterson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Sanel defending well as Peterson loads up on a big left hand. Sanel steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Peterson. Sanel is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Peterson with a body shot. Peterson throws out a loose jab but Sanel uses good head movement to avoid it. Sanel clinches up with Peterson and pushes him back against the cage. Sanel working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. A head punch on the inside from Sanel fails to land. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Peterson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Sanel tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Peterson working hard to break the clinch. Sanel misses with a punch on the inside.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sanel creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Sanel misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Peterson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Peterson is trying to break the clinch but Sanel has him pressed against the cage. Peterson blocking some punches.
Sanel cracks Peterson with a nice body shot. Sanel gets through Peterson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Sanel has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Peterson seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Sanel can turn it around. Sanel keeps control of Peterson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Peterson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Sanel gets through Peterson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. A short body shot lands from Sanel as the two fighters clinch.

Sanel lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Peterson backwards. Sanel can't find room to land a body shot as Peterson controls the action.

Peterson is looking to control Sanel's arms but Sanel gets an underhook and turns him. Now Peterson has his back to the cage. Sanel misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Peterson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sanel has him pressed against the cage. Sanel misses with a punch to the body.
Sanel has Peterson pressed against the cage, preventing Peterson from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Sanel struggles to land a body shot inside as Peterson controls his hands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson tries to break free but Sanel pushes him back against the cage. Sanel keeps control of Peterson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Sanel works on Peterson's body with a couple of short punches. Sanel lands on the inside with an uppercut. Sanel lands a shot to the body. Sanel misses with a hook from the clinch. Peterson prevents a body shot from Sanel. Peterson is trying to break the clinch but Sanel is controlling him. Still in the clinch, Sanel scores with a nice short uppercut. Sanel lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Peterson is trying to break free. Sanel tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Sanel pushes Peterson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Sanel makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peterson prevents a body shot from Sanel. Peterson tries to work over Sanel's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Sanel lands a body punch. Sanel lands with a light punch inside. Peterson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Peterson is looking to break free of the clinch but Sanel has double underhooks. A head punch blocked on the inside by Peterson. Sanel keeps control of Peterson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Sanel is working Peterson over against the cage. Peterson is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sanel lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Sanel working some nice short punches in the clinch. Sanel softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Peterson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Sanel turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alojz Sanel dominated that round. The cut man is working on Alojz Sanel's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
BOOM! Sanel lands a beautiful left hook that drops Peterson. Peterson tries to recover but Sanel is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Peterson lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
