The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paulie lands a jab-cross combination.
Paulie throws a shot from downtown. Laranja moves away and avoids it.
Laranja appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Paulie tries to clinch up.
Paulie swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Paulie misses with a double jab
and Laranja counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Paulie!
Paulie is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Laranja is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Paulie is trying to escape the mount but Laranja keeps good control and instead manages to take Paulie's back.
Paulie is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Laranja off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Laranja is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Paulie has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Laranja is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Paulie with him. Paulie is trying to defend but Laranja has an arm under the chin now! Paulie grimaces and is forced to tap out!

In his post fight interview, Renato Laranja started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
