PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Humberto Dasilva (ranked 1403 p4p, 172 weight class) and Ernest Graves (ranked 1457 p4p, 178 weight class). Dasilva comes to the cage accompanied by Ladies and Gentlemen. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Humberto Dasilva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ernest Graves!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Graves just misses with a punch to the body.
Dasilva on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Dasilva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Graves sprawls well. Graves wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dasilva gets slowly back to his feet.

Dasilva drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Graves manages to get back to half guard.

Graves is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dasilva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dasilva's back!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Graves is looking to take a break and control but Dasilva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Graves working the strikes but Dasilva uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Dasilva is trying to control but can't.
Graves tries to pass to full mount but Dasilva defends it.
Dasilva is looking for a sweep. Graves is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Graves is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Dasilva reverses the position - he's now on top in Graves's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Graves is on top in guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Dasilva feints and as Graves raises his hands in defense, Dasilva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dasilva seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Graves throws his legs up looking for a submission but Dasilva uses it to pass to side control.
Graves has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Dasilva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dasilva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

I think Graves has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
