Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hawk Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kent looks for a takedown but Mendez sprawls well.
Good exchange - Kent coming out on top.
Kent tries for a takedown but Mendez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kent misses with a two punch combination.
Kent shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mendez's guard.
Mendez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kent. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kent drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kent jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kent wants to pass the guard but Mendez is keeping the position.
Kent slips nicely into half guard.
Mendez tries to kick Kent off but Kent keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Kent will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kent is breathing heavily.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Kent throws a series of punches but Mendez moves out of range.
Mendez dodges the punch combination from Kent.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mendez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mendez is looking to clinch but Kent is avoiding it.
Mendez lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kent's sensitive parts.
Clark Kent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mendez wants to clinch.
Mendez tries to clinch there but Kent circles away.
Mendez takes the fight into the clinch.
Mendez lands an elbow inside that Kent shrugs off.
Kent jumps guard but Mendez stands there with Kent around his waist. Kent gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clark Kent. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Mendez keeps control of Kent as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Kent pulls guard successfully.
Kent looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kent working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mendez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mendez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kent looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Mendez is posturing up here but Kent has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Mendez tries to roll out but it's too tight and Mendez has to tap! Slick submission there by Kent!
