Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steve Butabi!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Butabi moves into the clinch.
Butabi misses with a short punch on the inside.
Wallace's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Butabi throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Wallace counters with a straight right hand.
Wallace works the jab nicely.
Butabi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Butabi takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Wallace scores with the left hand. Butabi knows he should have avoided that one.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Butabi.
Wallace sends Butabi crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Wallace is motioning to the referee to let Butabi up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Butabi is rocked!
We've been told by Wallace's head coaches at Rabid Dog that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Butabi wants to clinch but Wallace slips to the side
and Wallace counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Butabi out cold! What a finish! Wallace is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). William Wallace!
