Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lamont Banner (ranked 1686 p4p, 212 weight class) and Ryan Rodriguez (ranked 1015 p4p, 133 weight class). On his way into the ring it seems that Lamont Banner has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Lamont Banner seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez throws a left and a right that both miss
and Banner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rodriguez thinking.
Rodriguez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Banner .
Banner getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Rodriguez takes a swing at Banner 's ribcage but misses.
It looked like Banner wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Rodriguez throws a low kick but it's checked well by Banner .
Rodriguez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Banner wants to slow Rodriguez down by chopping away at his legs.
Rodriguez replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Banner blocks it well.
Banner scoring well with a low kick there.
Rodriguez uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Banner has time to react.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodriguez rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rodriguez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A jab from Rodriguez does it's job there.
Banner scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rodriguez doesn't seem bothered though.

Rodriguez throws a right hand that misses
and Banner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Banner defending well as Rodriguez loads up on a big left hand.
Banner was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Rodriguez swings for the body but Banner moves out of range.
Ryan Rodriguez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Banner throws a lazy right hand but Rodriguez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A countering left hand to the body from Rodriguez misses.
A slow jab from Rodriguez misses its intended target.
Banner throwing a counter right hand but Rodriguez manages to avoid it.
We've been told by Banner 's head coaches at Big Bear Fight Factory that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
An inside leg kick from Rodriguez misses.
Rodriguez slips under a jab.
Nice defenses there by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez misses with a straight left.
Banner jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Banner misses with a body shot.
Rodriguez turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Rodriguez misses the shot to the body.
Banner throwing a counter right hand but Rodriguez manages to avoid it.
Rodriguez thuds his right hand into Banner 's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Rodriguez connects with an inside leg kick.
Rodriguez misses with a head kick.
Rodriguez throws a shot from downtown. Banner moves away and avoids it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rodriguez tries to bum rush Banner with a series of wild strikes but Banner uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
It looked like Banner was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Rodriguez.
Oooooh!!! Banner has knocked Rodriguez down with a huge combo! Banner steps away and waves a wobbly Rodriguez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Rodriguez is rocked!
It looks like Ryan Rodriguez has been cut.
Rodriguez gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Banner points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Rodriguez wakes up just in time to hear Banner thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lamont Banner !
An out of breath Lamont Banner thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
